LUND VILLAGE HALL

We welcome your enquiry about the village hall. Set out below are our hire charges and general conditions of hire.

The premises may be used for functions between 8 am and 11 pm If you wish to operate outside those hours you will have to apply for a TEMPORARY EVENT NOTICE from the EAST RIDING OF YORKSHIRE COUNCIL BUT PLEASE NOTE IT IS A CONDITION OF HIRING THE HALL THAT ALL EVENTS MUST TERMINATE BY 1 AM AT THE LATEST.

All fees and security deposits are payable 14 days before the event. Refunds will be made 14 days after the event.

GENERAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Thank you for booking Lund Village Hall for your function.

Before the date of your function consider contacting the near neighbours if you think that there may be undue noise outside social hours.

 

HIRE FEE

The hire fee covers the use of the hall or committee room, heating and lighting and mini- mal use of the kitchen together with crockery and cutlery. It together with any security deposit must be paid 14 days before the event. Refunds will be made 14 days later.  Use of the stove or warming cabinet in the kitchen involves an additional fee of £15 DAMAGE

You are responsible for any damage or loss to the village hall or its equipment arising from this event or individual attending it. Repairs and replacements will be charged at the full replacement cost to the committee.

SALE OR SUPPLY OF ALCOHOL AND USE OF THE HALL AFTER 11PM

THE HALL IS NOT LICENSED TO SELL ALCOHOL

If YOU propose to sell or supply alcohol you the organiser is responsible for apply- ing to the East Riding of Yorkshire Council for a Temporary Event Notice to facilitate this

OR

If the event is expected to continue after 11 pm a temporary event notice will also be required which you the organiser is responsible for applying for.

(One temporary event notice can cover both the sale of alcohol and entertainment going beyond 11pm).

PLEASE NOTE THAT SUPPLYING ALCOHOL AS PART OF THE TICKET PRICE OR BY ASKING FOR DONATIONS STILL REQUIRES A LICENCE IN THE FORM OF A TEMPORARY EVENT NOTICE

ILLEGAL SALE OF ALCOHOL CAN LEAD TO PROSECUTION BY THE POLICE AND PREJUDICE FUTURE HIRE OF THE HALL

YOU WILL BE ASKED TO PRODUCE A COPY OF YOUR TEMPORARY EVENT NOTICE 14 DAYS BEFORE THE EVENT. FAILURE TO DO SO WILL MEAN CANCELLATION OF THE BOOKING  

 

CLEANING

You are responsible for cleaning the hall after the function. We expect it to be left in the condition you would have expect to find it in.

The cleaning equipment is ……………………………………..

If the premises are not cleaned to the satisfaction of the committee then £50 will be de- ducted from your deposit.

Please use this as a checklist before you leave: Have you checked the following are clean?   

ALSO

Kitchen work surface kitchen floor, cooker and heating cabinet cleaned (if used), Hall floor toilets (3)

All windows closed and secured All lights in all rooms switched off All rubbish removed fridge turned off.

If used, dirty table cloths, tea towels, hand towels must be washed and returned, pots pans and cutlery must be washed and returned to shelves/cupboard in the kitchen

   

Terms and Conditions for Weddings

The basic hire fee covers the exclusive use of the hall for 3 days (from 8 am the day be- fore event , the event date and until 5 pm the day following and must be paid in full 28 days prior to the date of the event.

Use of the kitchen or use of the halls electricity by outside caters costs an additional £50

A none returnable deposit of £200 is required to secure the booking at the time the booking is made. This will be deducted from the hire fee.

Additionally a security bond of £200 is also required against damage and cleaning costs. This must paid 28 days before the date of the event.

Provided no damage is caused, the premises are left clean to the satisfaction of the com- mittee and all rubbish is removed a full refund of the security deposit will be made 14 days after the event.

NB.   a minimum of £50 will automatically be deducted if cleaning is not to the required standard.

The cost of any damage caused will be charged at the full replacement price even if that exceeds the amount of the security deposit.

The hall does not have a refuse collection service.. All refuse must be removed by the hirer. A deduction of £50 will be made if rubbish has to be removed by the committee

THE ORGANISER OF THE WEDDING IS RESPONSIBLE FOR ENSURING THAT AN APPROPRIATE LICENCE (KNOWN AS A TEMPORARY EVENT NOTICE) IS APPLIED FOR IF ALCOHOL IS TO BE SOLD AND/OR IF IT IS ANTICIPATED THAT THE CELE- BRATIONS WILL CONTINUE AFTER 11PM.

THIS APPLICATION WILL HAVE TO BE MADE BY SOMEONE WHO HOLDS A PER- SONAL LICENCE.

HIRE OF THE BAR  

THE hall has a bar which is available for hire at and additional charge set out in the charges list above

It comes with the use of glasses etc.

In addition to the additional hire charge there is an additional bond of £30 payable in ad- vance against the cost of damage and cleaning.

If the bar is left clean to the satisfaction of the committee and all waste must be removed along with all remaining stock then the the bond will be returned in full 14 days after the event
